Total Ozone Trends in East Asia from Long-Term Satellite and Ground Observations

The ozone concentration in the atmosphere has been recovering with reduction atmospheric ozone-depleting substances (ODS). However, ODS remain for long periods, slowing recovery. Furthermore, greenhouse gas-induced climate change complicates East Asia is a significant contributor to global due increase industrialization and presence of complex conditions. We investigated variations using total column data based on satellite ground observations compared results trends derived from multi-linear regression (MLR) model. found that MLR model relatively poor explanatory power recent extraterrestrial dynamical proxies, but uncertainty can be reduced monthly proxies. trend had greatest vicinity Korean Peninsula Manchuria 1997 2017 (~1% per decade). Similarly, Brewer spectrophotometer was 1.02 ± 1.45% decade Pohang 1.27 0.85% Seoul. When analysis period extended 2020, impact variability greater, suggesting increasingly contribute variability.
